THE SEASON SO FAR…..

We are now approaching the mid point of the 2010/2011 season and we are managing to sustain the record nine teams representing Falmouth Docks and two teams from Saracens at Penryn College. There are more players keen to sign up for teams next season so the future is looking very bright indeed. Currently Falmouth Docks  A and B lie second and third overall in the Premier Division and newly promoted Saracens are taking Division 2 by storm and are top at the moment.

CHRISTMAS BREAK

The last club night of the year will be on Thursday 16 December 2010 and the club will re-open on Thursday 6 January following the Christmas break.

CLUB WEBSITE

We are very pleased to announce that the new club website is now up and running and can be located at www.falmouthdocksttc.org.uk. We are also live on Facebook.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DRAW

The Annual Club Raffle will take place at our match premises at Penwerris Church Hall on Monday 20 December commencing at 7.30 pm. There will be loads of prizes and all the money raised will be reinvested into the club for more equipment. A few raffle tickets are enclosed with an explanatory letter so if everyone could make the effort to sell a few raffle tickets and donate some groceries or a prize it would be very much appreciated. It is hoped that everyone will make the effort to come along to the draw as in previous years.

CORNWALL SCHOOLS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS

In recent weeks local schools have been competing in the Cornwall Schools Team Championships at Penryn College and have been up against opposing schools from all over Cornwall. We are delighted that many of our young players have been successful for their respective schools: Penryn College comprising Callum Lewis, Bradley Hathaway, Alex Hunt and Lochrane Vanderveld have won the Cornwall Schools Under 16 category, Falmouth School won the Boys Under 13 section with Tom Lentern, Finlay Thomson, Marrick Palmer and Peter Cortis, and King Charles Primary School won the Girls Under 11 category represented by Dominique Williams, Chloe Parsons, Abbie Mundell and Lily Owen. Congratulations to all three teams who all qualify for the next stages in Plymouth in January.

CLUB PLAYING KIT

We now have some really nice playing kit and our players are looking smart on the table. Please note that if you play in a team and represent Falmouth Docks you are entitled to a free club hoody and playing shirt. If you don’t play in a team but would still like the kit then we can supply this to you at the very reasonable price of £ 20.00. Club training shirts are also available at £ 5.00 each.

LEAGUE MATCHES AT PENWERRIS

We are sorry that there is no heating at the Penwerris Hall at the moment for our league matches. The situation is being addressed and will hopefully be improved soon – not ideal given the current weather!

Please also note that team captains no longer need to collect the key from the Reverend Mesley. The key is now with Howard Baker (next door to the hall). Please liaise with Howard on 01326 314132 regarding collecting the key.

PRESS AND PUBLICITY

Watch out for Howard Baker’s weekly slot in the Falmouth Packet. Please forward any information on how your team is doing to Howard on a weekly basis – and any photographs (action or group) are always welcomed. Howard can be contacted on 01326 314132.
