Welcome to the new season at Falmouth Docks. The light evenings are drawing in and it’s time to think about digging your bat out again! We hope you have a successful and enjoyable season.

We are very pleased to announce that Treeve Rowe is our new President. Treeve has worked tirelessly for our club over the last 10 seasons and our club would not be in the position that it is in today without his efforts.

The increasingly popular club nights commence again this coming Thursday 16 September where players of all standards and ages are welcome. This season we have changed things slightly! The club is now open for everyone from 7.00 - 9.00 at Penryn College Main Hall every Thursday. The club night will be split into three sections …. An advanced section for all league players and visitors undertaking set exercises and ‘top table’, a section for players to have a casual practice and for new players to come and try it, and a juniors section for young non league players to be coached. Please note that the juniors section will finish at 8.30 and parents need to collect their children at this time please.

The fees for club nights are £ 2.00 per person if you play at Falmouth Docks or Saracens and if you pay per term (see letter enclosed). If you decide to pay weekly then the fee is £ 2.50. Visitors from other clubs are always welcome and can also pay £ 2.50 on a weekly basis. For ease of administration we would prefer if members paid ‘termly’ but understand that this is not always possible. In addition this season for players that just attend the club nights there is an annual membership fee of £ 7.50 (Juniors or Seniors) but this does entitle you to a free club training shirt. Visiting players can join as Associate Members but this is not mandatory.

The Falmouth Docks TTC membership fees for the coming season are as follows:

Senior ‘Team Playing’  £ 80.00 per season (includes a free club shirt and hoody).
Junior ‘Team Playing’  £ 40.00 per season (includes a free club shirt and hoody)
Non Team Players        £   7.50 per season (includes a free club training shirt)
Associate Members       £  7.50 per season (includes a free club training shirt)

Please note that Associate Members are players from other clubs that are welcome to join.

Under our ClubMark accreditation we are now required to provide Membership Forms for everyone. Forms are available from me or from Nicola Cortis on the Club Night Reception Desk on Thursday evenings.

Falmouth Docks is an ETTA Premier Club with ‘Clubmark’ accreditation at ‘participation level’. It means that as a club the English Association recognises Falmouth Docks as a professionally run club, committed to providing all the necessary services for the membership.

Falmouth Docks is fielding 9 teams in the West Cornwall League this season covering all four divisions of the league. Last season was a very successful season for the club with Falmouth Docks A being crowned West Cornwall Champions for the third year in succession. The Falmouth Docks teams will continue to play league matches out of Penwerris Hall for the time being.

Our satellite club Saracens TTC who house a number of our up and coming young players are fielding two teams with newly promoted Saracens A playing in Division 2. Both Saracens teams will play out of Penryn College on Friday evenings.

If you play in a team for Falmouth Docks you will receive a free match shirt and hoodie as part of your membership. The new kit is extremely smart and please ensure that you wear the club kit when representing the club. If you do not play in a team but would like the kit then this is available at just £ 20.00 for both garments. Please also remember that non team players will receive a free club training shirt as part of their membership. Additional club training shirts are available for just £ 5.00. Club kit will be available from next Thursday 16 September.

In the new year we will again be holding the Falmouth Docks Junior Championships. Further details in due course. The Junior Singles winner will receive the Sharon Holden Memorial Cup and Terry Holden has kindly donated a magnificent trophy in Sharon’s memory. Chris Peters won the singles last season and was the first recipient of this trophy. We are also looking into a senior event and possibly a club hard bat event.
